About
LIFE AND ART
Art has always played a large part in my life and plein air painting has brought me closer to nature. Mother nature provides us with so much subject matter to create our own rendition of what we see and feel.
After 20 years of studio painting in oils, I developed an allergy for toxic fumes from solvants. For a few years I painted in acrylic, however, my love for oil painting was rekindled with the discovery of Cobra water soluble oils. I am a member of the Plein Air Painters of the Four Corners and Plein Air Artist Colorado.
It has been a wonderful journey and I hope I can share my appreciation of our landscape with others.
INSPIRATION FROM THE SOUTHWEST
The Southwest has some of the most diverse, colourful and breathtaking landscapes. From desert scenes to mountain vistas, every picture is unique and each season will make the same spot show different moods and colours.
Moving to Durango Colorado from Chicago as a huge step forward in my career as a painter. Everyday I walk out the door I see a potential painting. I believe this area is every plein air painter’s dream.
MENTORS
I’ve had the chance to take workshops from several amazing artists who became some of my biggest sources of inspiration
